The Potomac Valley Swimming Zone Team delivered a strong performance at the 2026 Eastern Zone Age Group Championships, held July 29–August 1 at the NOVA Regency Aquatic Center.
A total of 162 PVS swimmers represented the LSC, helping Potomac Valley finish 4th overall with 2,666 points—an improvement from its 5th-place finish in 2025. The PVS girls moved up from 5th to 3rd place, while the boys improved from 5th to 4th place.
🏆 Two Eastern Zone Records!
Two PVS 13–14 girls turned in record-setting performances:
Riley Han — 50 Butterfly, 29.61
Caidyn Lionel — 50 Backstroke, Eastern Zone Championship Record
🥇 Individual Event Champions
PVS swimmers captured victories across several age groups:
Adrian Adriano — 11–12 Boys 200 Freestyle
Ethan Duncan — 10 & Under Boys 50 Freestyle
Siena Foley — 13–14 Girls 200 Freestyle and 400 Freestyle
Caidyn Lionel — 13–14 Girls 50 Backstroke
Grace Mense — 10 & Under Girls 50 Butterfly
Callie Yue — 10 & Under Girls 100 Backstroke
🥇 Relay Highlights
The 10 & Under Girls had an especially impressive meet, winning three of four relays:
200 Freestyle Relay: Madelyn McGinley, Dunya Hakimzada, Callie Yue and Stevarra White
400 Freestyle Relay: Callie Yue, Stevarra White, Avery Collin and Madelyn McGinley
400 Medley Relay: Callie Yue, Stevarra White, Ellie Seeto and Madelyn McGinley
The 10 & Under girls also took 2nd and 3rd in the 200 Medley Relay.
The 10 & Under Boys won the 200 Freestyle Relay with Jeffrey Xiong, Jordan Li, Dexter Danont and George Xuan.
The 11–12 Boys also had an outstanding relay showing, earning multiple top-three finishes, including 2nd and 3rd in the 200 Freestyle Relay, 2nd in the 400 Freestyle Relay and 2nd in the 200 Medley Relay.
The 13–14 Girls earned 2nd place in the 400 Medley Relay with Caidyn Lionel, Lucy Scott, Caroline Downs and Riley Han.
⭐ Individual Top-8 Performances
PVS swimmers recorded numerous top-eight finishes throughout the meet.
13–14 Girls: Siena Foley, Riley Han, Caidyn Lionel, Alex Rozofsky and Lucy Scott all earned top-eight finishes.
13–14 Boys: Zachary Bell, Maddox Cory, David Hall, Zander Pica and Jackson Walsh finished among the top eight in individual events.
11–12 Boys: Adrian Adriano, Declan Bell, Ethan Kim, Graham Musser, Jason Xu and Lyon Zakorchemny recorded top-eight performances.
11–12 Girls: Regan Robinson and Josephine Wilson finished in the top eight.
10 & Under Boys: Raylan Benton, Rossi Cofield, Ethan Duncan, Sebastian Gash, Nolan Ruther and Kairav Venugopal earned top-eight finishes.
10 & Under Girls: Mahari Battle, Olivia Cofield, Avery Collin, Dunya Hakimzada, Madelyn McGinley, Grace Mense, Katherine Reilly, Ellie Seeto, Stevarra White, Clarke Wilkerson and Callie Yue all recorded top-eight performances.
💪 A Big Move Up for PVS
PVS finished 4th overall among the competing LSCs with 2,666 points, behind Middle Atlantic, New Jersey and Virginia. The finish continued an upward trend for Potomac Valley, which placed 7th in 2024 and 5th in 2025.
