Zone Team selection dates for 14/Under athletes is 9/01/09 to 3/22/09 and for 15-18 athletes is 9/01/08 to 3/15/09.
Application must be received by the Zone Team Coordinator for 14/U athletes no later than 3/22/09 and for 15-18 athletes no later than 3/15/09. NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. All times for consideration are based on the period 9/01/08 up to and including the cutoff date for your age group. For an explanation of times eligible for consideration, see 14 & Under Athletes and/or 15-18 Athletes. Applicants selected for the team will be notified immediately following the applicable cutoff date. Fees are not to be paid along with the application. The 2009 Zone fee is $425 per swimmer and is to be paid once the swimmer is accepted onto the PVS Zone team. All checks are to be made out to Potomac Valley Swimming. Further payment instructions will be given once the Zone team is selected.
There will be a Mandatory meeting for all swimmers and parents (at least one parent must attend) on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Walt Whitman High School (auditorium) in Bethesda, MD from 6-8 pm. The $425 payment will be due at the time of the meeting. No swimmer will be allowed to travel until the fee has been paid.
The deadline for event seletion of all swimmers that qualify is no later than 5:00 pm Monday, March 23 (this generally applies to the swimmers qualifying for 6 or move individual events).
The team will be departing from the Montgomery Aquatic Center, Wednesday April 1. All swimmers should arrive NO LATER than 5:00 am. Swimmers will return to the MAC, Sunday April 5 at approximately 5:00 am. Swimmers will call parents when they are 1 hour from the pool.
Potomac Valley will be staying at the Rochester Plaza Hotel. All Swimmers MUST travel and stay with the team. Parents can request to have their swimmers travel home with them after the conclusion of the final team dinner on Saturday night, however this request must be made by email and submitted to the Zone Team Coordinator, Dave Greene no later than 5:00 pm Monday, March 23, 2009
Best top 20 times are by age-group and event and are currently based on times for the period 09/01/08-3/22/2009.
This list will continue to be updated periodically until the team selection process is completed. See here for a list of meets that are included. Ages are as of April 2, 2009; the first day of the Eastern Zone Spring SC meet. Athletes are ineligible for consideration if they have participated in a USA Swimming National Championship meet or USA Junior Championship meet and are excluded from these lists. Additionally, except for 12/U athletes, swimmers who have a qualifying time for the USA-S SCY Championship, 2009 Speedo Junior Championship meet or the 2009 ConocoPhillips National Championships may not participate at the Zone meet. Accordingly, a swimmer having any of these times is NOT included in these Top 20 lists for 13-14 and 15-18 year old swimmers for any event.
All times received to date appear in "Top 20 Preliminary Best Times" reports. All subsequent PVS meets will be automatically loaded, including initial relay leg swims, if properly loaded in the data base provided to PVS. Teams participating in meets in other LSC's should promptly submit an electronic file of the meet results to the PVS Database Coordinator for inclusion in subsequent updates.

Times from MCPS Counties & Metros do not have lead off relay swims, if a time is needed you will need to request it by
