Officials Tracking
While the number of swimmers in Potomac Valley has increased steadily, the numbers of officials has remained about the same over the past five years. Because of this, the PVS Officials Committee has a desire to track the staffing of meets by PVS officials.
Two additional actions by Potomac Valley have made this a necessity:
- PVS now pays the USA Swimming registration fees for all "active" officials after their first year, beginning in 2006.
- PVS has instituted a mandatory requirement for teams to provide officials based on their number of swimmers. You can view the PVS Officials Requirement adopted by the PVS Board in 2006.
Meet Referees or Meet Directors are asked by the PVS Officials Committee to report the names of the officials from their meets so they can be added to the tracking database.
SUBMISSION OF OFFICIALS' SIGN-IN SHEETS: In recognition of the importance of accurately tracking officials actually working at PVS sanctioned meets, the PVS board unanimously approved a refund of $20.00 per meet to PVS host clubs that submit Officials' sign-in sheets for all sessions.
