To All New and Reregistering Coaches:

This is to remind you we will be implementing the procedures announced in the General Chairman's letter of May 18, 1999

Please remember the new requirement that copies of current certifications (CPR, STSC and First Aid) must be submitted with all Coach registration applications for registration year 2000. Any submission that is incomplete will be returned to the submitting party unprocessed.

Please also remember that your certification card will now show that your registration is only valid until the first date any of your certifications expire. Please make sure you submit updated certifications prior to the date you card expires.

All coaches who were registered as a coach with USA Swimming for the first time after August 31, 1998 must have completed their Coaches Education requirements from ASCA in order to reregister for registration year 2000. A copy of the Education Verification letter from ASCA must accompany the registration application. Individuals registering for the first time as a coach with USA Swimming after August 31, 1999 have until registration year 2001 to satisfy this requirement.

All coaches who were registered with USA Swimming as a coach prior to prior to September 1, 1998 should check "Grandfathered" on their 2000 registration form, and are exempt from this education requirement.
