** Grant Program - Phase II **

USA Swimming is proud to announce that the packets of information for Phase II of the Club/LSC Grant Program are ready for distribution. The committee has approximately $115,000 from the original $250,000 to distribute during the second phase for grants that address one or more of the three core objectives of USA Swimming (Build the Base, Promote the Sport, Achieve Competitive Success). USA Swimming distributed $135,000 to nine swim clubs during Phase I of this program. Contact Cindy Hayes via e-mail chayes@usa-swimming.org or by phone at 719-578-4578 to receive a grant packet.

** Top 16 / Top 100 **

The first preview for the 1998-1999 Short Course Top 16 listing is now online as well as the Top 100 lists (which are being published for the first time in three years). http://www.usa-swimming.org/tp16-100/

** Scholastic All-America **

Are your swimmers smart and fast? This is probably the best recognition program offered by USA Swimming. To be eligible, USA Swimming members must have completed the 10th, 11th, or 12th grade with a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and swam in an individual event at the 1998 summer Junior or National Championships, 1998 U.S. Open or 1999 spring Junior or National Championships. Note; Applications are due by July 26 for PVS's Scholar-Athlete program.

** Elections and Nominations **

If you wish to be nominated to the Olympic International Operations Committee or as a Zone Director, the official nomination form is now online in Adobe Acrobat format. Anyone wishing to be elected to these positions at the 1999 National Convention in San Diego must fill out this form and return it by July 23. http://www.usa-swimming.org/forms/

** Marketing intern needed **

USA Swimming is now accepting applications for the position of Marketing Intern, who will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of corporate sponsorship activities, marketing and promotion, conducting research, preparing presentation materials, and website. http://www.usswim.org/latest/intern.htm

** "No Recall" starting procedure **

Effective this summer for Juniors, Nationals and the Grand Prix mees, the "no recall" starting procedure will be in place. Click here for the guidelines: http://www.usswim.org/officials.htm

** World University Games coverage **

The WUGs, July 4-7, will receive full online coverage with notes, quotes, stories, diaries, photos, and results. http://www.usa-swimming.org/meets/1999/WUG/
