PVS mourns the loss of one its swimmers, Jonathan D Leber. Jonathan died on April 26th in Wisconsin as a result of accident involving a single passenger aircraft which he was piloting. Jonathan swam for many years in Potomac Valley. Most recently he competed for the Potomac Marlins. He previously swam for Aquatic Team Cardinal and Victor Swim Club, going back to at least 1994.
Jonathan was a junior at Maranatha Baptist Bible College majoring in mission aviation. While attending school there, he was both a high school and club coach in Watertown Aquatic Team. He had also continued to swim while in college most recently competed in the Wisconsin Senior State Championships this past February. Last summer, he swam for the Potomac Marlins in several long course meets including PVS Senior Championships.
He graduated from high school at Fairfax Baptist Temple in 2002, graduating with honors. He coached the Camelot Swim Team of the NVSL summer league. In the past, he both coached and swam for Ravensworth Farm Ravens, also of NVSL. He started swimming at age 6.
His father John Leber is also involved in competitive swimming and currently coaches for the Potomac Marlins.

A memorial service for Jonathan Leber will be on Wednesday, May 4th, at 7:00 p.m. at the Fairfax Baptist Temple (Missionary Lane). It is located on the corner of Burke Lake Road and the Fairfax County Parkway.
PVS extends its condolences to his parents, John and Kathy Leber, and his sister, Danielle, who also swims for the Potomac Marlins. Our thougths are also with his family, friends, fellow students and teammates -- both here and in Wisconsin.
