General Chairman's Report
September 25, 2001

  • With the tragedy of September 11, only a few members of the PVS delegation was able to travel to the USAS/USA Swimming convention in Deaborn, Michigan. I applaud this group for stepping up and filling the meeting voids for those of us who could not attend. Lines of communication was established by the administrative staff in Dearborn to keep me apprised of the daily events and business matters. Convention was somewhat streamlined in light of the number of persons not able to travel. All of the PVS delegates arrived home, via car, safe and sound.

  • Received an email from Linda Cromarty, RMSC-Olney, informing me that her site raised $2600 at a car wash on September 16, to be donated to the victims of the WTC/Pentagon tragedy. A great effort on the part of the swimmers, coaches and parents in a time of severe crisis.

  • On Thursday, October 11, 2001, Curl-Burke Swim Club will be leading a relief effort for those touched by the tragedy at the World Trade Center and Pentagon. Details of this fundraiser have been emailed to all clubs within the USA.
