HEAD POOL COACH
SEA DEVIL SWIMMING (SDS)
Sea Devil Swimming (SDS) is currently recruiting for the position of Head Pool Coach.
Who we are: SDS was founded in 1967 as a non-profit organization whose philosophy is to instill pride and values in our swimmers while working in a fun and supportive team environment. The SDS program has over 600 swimmers of varying abilities and levels; we have swimmers just starting out who are learning the basic fundamentals of each stroke to Olympic Trial Qualifiers, as well as a Master program. The program is headed by a volunteer board of directors and is run out of six locations within the Washington Metropolitan area. We are looking for an energetic and motivated coach to join our program to help train and develop young athletes; while providing guidance to age group/novice coaches. This position allows the coach to have autonomy in developing training programs for the site while also receiving guidance and mentoring by Head Coach Peter Karl and staff. The position will be located in the Springfield area of Northern Virginia at a training facility that includes a 10 lane competitive pool, two one meter diving boards, a beach/wading area, and a poolside spa.
Position Description: The candidate should possess ASCA Level 3, with ASCA Level 4 preferred; should have at least five years proven USS coaching experience and preferably will have a bachelors degree; will be responsible for all phases of running a year round swim club, must be able to operate Hytek Meet and Team Manager. This position requires excellent communication skills and a passion for working with young people.
Salary: The starting salary is commensurate with experience and includes a 403B retirement plan.
