207.9 ENTRIES
207.10 QUALIFYING TIME STANDARDS
207.11 PROOF OF ENTERED TIME

Proposed by: Time Standards Committee

Purpose: Eliminate the time standards for foreign swimmers. This set of standards has become obsolete. In recent years, very few foreign clubs or foreign national teams have attended our National Championships. There is no real need to have a more difficult standard for these foreign clubs or national teams. In addition, most foreign athletes at our Nationals are USA Swimming members who use the domestic qualifying standards.

Effective date: January 1, 2000

207.9.13 Foreign swimmers who are not members of USA Swimming may enter national championships provided they have met all qualifying requirements including submission of proof of entered times. These foreign athletes must meet the National Championships time standards. (See also 207.11.3)

207.10.3 Time standards for foreign swimmers who are representing a foreign team or country shall be based on the fastest 16th preliminary place from the USA Swimming National Championships of the previous year the National Championships time standards.

207.11.3 Foreign swimmers who are representing a foreign team or country must meet the established foreign time standards National Championships time standards and provide official meet results with the entry form.
