ARTICLE 207 USA SWIMMING NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Purpose: To establish USA Swimming Sectional Championships (approximately 16) and a USA Swimming National Championship in accordance with the concepts summarized below.



206.1 GENERAL

.1 Senior Class -- two one short course and one long course meets.

.2 Junior Class -- delete

.3 Sectional Championships¾ approximately sixteen (16) short course and (16) long course meets.

206.3 AWARD OF EVENTS

.1 USA Swimming Nationals, Trials class, USA Swimming National and Sectional Championships, and U.S. Open …[no further change]

USA Swimming Spring National Championships -- To end the third Saturday in March.

207.2. USA Swimming National Championships¾ USA Swimming National Championships shall be governed and conducted by Program Operations. 207.6 USA Swimming Sectional Championships shall be conducted as follows:

.1 Each Zone shall conduct at least two (2) Sectional meets.

.2 Time standards for Sectional meets shall be established by the Section, to accommodate not fewer than 400 participants.

.3 Each Zone shall designate the Sections. The Sections shall determine the location and dates of the Sectional meets. The meets shall be scheduled to conclude not later than the entry deadline for the National Championships. (Note: If a Zone has not scheduled its Sectional meets before April 1 of the preceding year, the Senior Committee shall designate the meet locations and dates. )

.4 Sections shall determine their own format.

.5 All swimmers who have achieved the sectional qualifying times shall be eligible to participate.

207.5 ADMINISTRATIVE CONDUCT OF USS CHAMPIONSHIPS
