Zone Team selection dates for 14/Under athletes is 9/01/2011 to 3/18/2012 and for 15-18 athletes is 9/01/2011 to 3/11/2012.
Attention Coaches, Parents and Swimmers that are 15-18. If you know a swimmer will definitely not be going to Zones (probably because they are in college), please let us know and we will remove then from the top 20 lists. This will allow a more accurate list of who is really eligible.
For the 2012 meet, PVS will enter three swimmers per event for the 12 & Under events and two swimmers per event for the 13 & Over events per the new Zone Meet rules.
All times for consideration are based on the period 9/01/2011 up to and including the cutoff date for your age group.
Applications (will be available soon) must be received by the Zone Team Coordinator for the 14/U athletes no later than March 18, 2012 and for the 15-18 athletes no later than March 11, 2012. NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. All times for consideration are based on the period 9/1/2011 up to and including the cutoff date for your age group. Applicants selected for the team will be notified immediately following the appicable cutoff date. Fees are not to be paid along with the application. The 2012 Zone fee of $525 is to be paid once the swimmer is accepted onto the PVS Zone team. All checks are to be made out to Potomac Valley Swimming. Further payment instructions will be given once the Zone team is selected.
Best top 20 times are by age-group and event and are currently based on times for the period 09/01/2011-2/19/2012.
This list will continue to be updated periodically until the team selection process is completed. See here for a list of meets that are included. Ages are as of March 29, 2012; the first day of the Eastern Zone Spring SC meet. Athletes are ineligible for consideration if they have participated in a USA Swimming National Championship meet or USA Junior Championship meet and are excluded from these lists. Additionally, except for 12/U athletes, swimmers who have a qualifying time for the 2011 AT&T Winter National Championships or the 2011 Speedo Short Course Junior National Championships may not participate at the Zone meet. Accordingly, a swimmer having any of these times is NOT included in these Top 20 lists for 13-14 and 15-18 year old swimmers for any event.
All times received to date appear in "Top 20 Preliminary Best Times" reports. All subsequent PVS meets will be automatically loaded, including initial relay leg swims, if properly loaded in the data base provided to PVS. Teams participating in meets in other LSC's should promptly submit an electronic file of the meet results to the PVS Database Coordinator for inclusion in subsequent updates.
Top 20 lists were updated Feb 21, 2012 @ 7:45PM to to include meets through 2/19/2012 (see for meets included ) that are loaded into Swims. If your meet is not included it is because your meet manager has not supplied it to us.
