PVS and host clubs along with their Meet Directors are committed to the Inclusion Policy as adopted by the BOD. Athletes with a disability are welcomed and are asked to provide advance notice of desired accommodations to the Meet Director. The athlete (or athlete’s coach) is also responsible for notifying the session’s deck referee of any disability prior to the competition.

 

 

Effective October 1, 2009: In swimming competitions, the competitor must wear only one swimsuit in one or two pieces. For men, the swimsuit shall not extend above the navel nor below the knee, and for women, shall not cover the neck, extend past the shoulder, nor extend below the knee. All swimsuits shall be made from textile materials and may not contain zippers or other fastening devices. A contestant may enter no more than FIVE events per day or ELEVEN events during the meet.

 

SEED TIMES: are short course yards. In the event that short course yard times are unavailable, coaches’ times are preferred over “no times” for all events except event 7 and 8 (1000 Freestyle).

 

Qualification for swimming events 7 & 8 (1000 yd Freestyle): All athletes wishing to swim the 1000 yd Freestyle must have a minimum provable time of 15:00 or faster OR a 500yd/400m time faster than 7:00. Coaches who have swimmers who they believe they can complete events 7 & 8 faster than 15:00.00 can petition the Distance Coordinator for an exception.

 

Events 5 & 6, 9-12 year old 500 yd Freestyle, will be swum fast to slow alternating women and men. Followed by events 7 & 8, 13 & over 1000 yd Freestyle, which will also be swum fast to slow alternating women and men.

 

Dive-over starts may be used at this meet at the discretion of the Meet Referee and Meet Management.

Late/Deck Entries

·        Deck entries are $10.00 per individual event

·        All deck entries must be submitted to the Meet Director at least 45 minutes prior to the first event of each session.

·        Swimmers will be entered into open lanes in the existing heats on a first come, first served basis.

·        The Meet Director reserves the right to deny any Deck entries if the event/meet is significantly over subscribed.

·        Evidence of current USA-S registration will be required for all deck entries. This can be done by presenting a copy of your USA-S athlete registration card.

 

Entry Deadline

 

The Meet Director must receive all entries for this meet no later than:

5:00 pm, Tuesday October 6, 2009

This date is the deadline for clubs to submit their entries to the Meet Director. Therefore, clubs usually set an earlier deadline to receive entries from their swimmers. Please check with your club for the entry deadline information.
