Saturday, April 25, & Sunday, April 26, 2009-

13 & Over – 6:00- 7:15 A.M. / Competition- 7:20 A.M.

12 & Under- 1:20- 2:30 P.M./ Competition- 2:35 P.M.

 

** Warm-up/ Competition time may be adjusted after entries are received to allow for 2- 10 minute warm up breaks during competition.**

 

Awards:

Ribbons will be awarded for 1st- 8th place in individual events per age group. (10 & under. 11-12. 13-14. 15 & over)  

Eligibility:

Open to all registered Potomac Valley and USA Swimming registered athletes.  This meet has NO qualifying times.

Entries will be limited to first 4000 splashes received.

 

Swimmer may compete in 2 events Friday/ 3 Saturday & 3 Sunday for a MAX total of 8 events.

Positive Check-in:

All 200 & Over events will be positive check in.  Meet Manger reserves the right to take whole meet to positive check in if needed.  Clubs will be notified via email if this change occurs.

Rules:

Current USA Swimming Rules shall govern the meet.  All events are timed finals.  Swimmers are permitted to enter up to a maximum of 2 events on Friday & three (3) events per day Saturday and Sunday. 

 

Dive-over starts will be used at this meet. Coaches are requested to review Guidance for Dive-Over Starts for Coaches.  Officials are requested to review Protocol for Dive-Over Starts.

 

No on-deck USA-S registration will be permitted.

Inclusion policy for Swimmers with a Disability:

PVS and host clubs along with their Meet Directors are committed to the Inclusion Policy as adopted by the BOD. Athletes with a disability are welcomed and are asked to provide advance notice of desired accommodations to the Meet Director. The athlete (or the athlete's coach) is also responsible for notifying the session referee of any disability prior to the competition

Warm- Up:

The prescribed Potomac Valley Swimming warm-up procedures and safety policies for Open warm-ups will be followed.  Due to meet size the meet manager may assign lanes and warm-up times based on team size.  Proper notice of such a change will be given with all information that applies in ample time.

 

Warm-ups will be split into two (2) 30-minute sessions of assigned lanes with 2 sprint lanes for 10 minutes.  At 7:00 AM and 2:20 PM, the WHOLE pool will open for sprints and pace work.   Clubs will be emailed their assigned warm-up times and lanes. 

Timers:

All participating teams are required to provide one (1) timer per 30 athletes in the meet.  Timers will be required to work one (1) session.  A schedule of timers will be emailed to all clubs prior to the meet.  The host club will provide a minimum of eight (8) timers per session.

Officials:

All certified officials wishing to volunteer to work this meet please contact the Machine Aquatics Officials Chair, Scott Robinson at:officials@machineaquatics.com prior to Friday, April 17th, 2009.

Please include your club affiliation, certifications held, and sessions you wish to work. Officials assigned to this meet should sign in at the computer table at the start of warm-up. Certified officials who have not been contacted should volunteer their services to the Referee.

Supervision:

Coaches are responsible for the conduct of their swimmers and for maintaining a clean team area.  Chairs are permitted on deck.

Admission:

There is no admission charge for this meet.  Meet programs will be available for $2.00 per session.

Fees:

Fees for individual events are $6.00 per event.

 

Should space permit, deck entries will be accepted for $10.00 per entry.

Entries:

Entries may be sent via e-mail.

1. Entries must arrive by the due date and time.

 

2. Short course entry times will be considered conforming times for this meet. Long course entry times must be designated with a capital letter "L". These non-conforming times will be seeded after short course times.

3. Include with your commlink file one (1) report by name and one (1) by event. Create these reports in Team Manager and save as Word for Windows files. You must also check the box for "proof of time"

4. In the body of your e-mail provide entry numbers (girls, boys, totals). Include contact information (e-mail, phone, officials contact).

5. Send e-mail to paris@machineaquatics.com

6. Meet Directors are requested to acknowledge receipt by return e-mail within 24 hours. Clubs submitting entries that do NOT receive an acknowledgement should contact the Meet Director by other than e-mail to confirm receipt.

Entries may be sent via mail/express mail/ etc.
 

Computer disk entries (Hy-tek) are encouraged. Disk entries require one (1) meet entry report by name and one (1) by event from Team Manager. Entries may also be submitted on a PVS Master Entry Sheet. All entries must include a completed "Entry Cover Sheet."

If space permits Deck entries will be accepted.  The fee will be $10.00 per entry.   Evidence of current USA-S registration will be required for deck entries.  this can be done by presenting a copy of the athlete's current USA-S registration card.

The meet director will not accept phone or fax entries.

If using a mail service (Fed Ex, UPS, etc.) sign the waiver allowing the service to leave your entries without requiring a signature.

Entries that are incomplete, submitted on incorrect forms, or lacking the phone number of a responsible club official will not be accepted.

Warning:

Any club or individual that enters an unregistered athlete, falsifies an entry in any way, or permits an unregistered swimmer to represent them, will be fined by PVS the sum of $100.00 and no further entries will be accepted from that club until the said fine has been paid.

Deadline:

The Meet Director must receive all entries for this meet

IMPORTANT: This meet is limited to the first 4000 splashes.  Teams from Potomac Valley and surrounding areas are invited.  This above date is the deadline for the clubs to submit their entries.  Therefore, clubs usually set an earlier deadline to receive entries from their swimmers.  Check with your club for deadline information.
