Potomac Valley Swimming will be sending an All Star Team to the Eastern Zone 2005 All-Star Short Course Age Group Championship, competed at Gloucester County Institute of Technology in Sewell New Jersey, March 31-April 2, 2005. This is a great chance for PVS athletes to compete against the best in the East and get to know and develop friendships with other athletes from other PVS clubs.

All PVS swimmers are encouraged to apply for selection to the team. The fastest two athletes from each event will be selected to the team. No swimmer will be selected for more than six events.

PVS will provide a team outfit package to each swimmer to include: 3 team T-shirts, 3 swim caps, and team bag. A substantial portion of the team's cost is to be offset by PVS.

The Zone Team fee for participating on team will be $350 in 2005. All athletes must also submit a medical release form.

Swimmers selected for the team are required to travel and room with the team.

SELECTION OF ZONE TEAM ATHLETES

• Must have Zone Team Application on file by February 28, 2005.
• Fastest two athletes from each age group, each event
• Times from September 1, 2004 thru the conclusion of PVS 14 & Under Junior Olympic Championship Meet, March 13, 2005. Times from time trials are not permitted.

• Must have Zone Team Application on file by February 28, 2005.
• Fastest two athletes from each age group, each event will be selected for the team.
• Times from September 1, 2004 thru the conclusion of PVS SCY Championship Meet, March 6, 2005. Times from time trials are not permitted.

Zone rules specify that no swimmer who has participated in an individual event in the Speedo Championship Series (Sectional), US Open, National Championships or Olympic Trials may enter this meet. Swimmers who have achieved a qualifying time for the Spring 2005 Eastern Zone sectional meet may not enter that event or swim the same relay leg.

Because swimmers selected for the team represent all the swimmers in POTOMAC VALLEY, they are expected to conduct themselves appropriately at all times. Disciplinary problems may result in swimmers being sent home at the parent's expense, exclusion from future PVS Zone Teams, exclusion from PVS Camps, and forfeiture of PVS travel support. Selection to the Zone Team is a significant accomplishment and honor which carries with it certain responsibilities. It is a great experience and a chance to SWIM FAST!!

Special Note: Late applications for 15/O will be accepted until March 6 and for 14/U until March 13. Late applications must be accompanied by a $10 late payment fee payable to Potomac Valley Swimming.
