Potomac Valley Swimming will be represented with an ALL -STAR TEAM at the 2001 Eastern Zone Long Course Championship Meet. This year the meet will be held in Buffalo, New York. The venues for this meet will be University at Buffalo Alumni Arena Pool for the 12 & unders, and the Erie Community College Flickinger Aquatic Center for the 13 & overs. All finals will be at Erie Community College Flickinger Aquatic Center. The dates for this meet is August 8 - 11, 2001. This is a great chance for PVS swimmers to compete against the best in the East, and to get to know and develop friendships with swimmers from other Potomac Valley clubs.

All PVS swimmers are encouraged to apply for the team. All qualified swimmers in each event will be selected for the team. Each swimmer may enter a total of six events. Swimmer's age for this meet is age as of August 8, 2001. Entry times must be in Long Course Meters and must have been achieved in a PVS/USA sanctioned approved meet. Indicate the date and meet for verification of entry time. Swimmers are responsible for providing official results for entry times achieved in non PVS competition.

All swimmers will receive a zone team cap, tank top, and suit. Additional optional attire is available on order form (now posted) Because of the short turn around time, optional apparel is limited. Outfitting pick up is Tuesday July 31st, 3pm to 5pm at Lubber Run Recreation Center 300 North Park Drive, Room 201 Arlington, VA . ALL SIZES OF OUTFITTING WILL BE AVAILABE FOR PICKUP AT LUBBER RUN ON JULY 31th. ANYONE THAT WILL NEED TO MAKE SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR PICKUP CAN DO SO BY CONTACTING LINDA CRUDUP.

Recommended accommodations are listed with the meet announcement. Swimmers and parents must make their own hotel arrangements. Cost of lodging, transportation, and food are the swimmer's/ parent's responsibility. Please make reservations early. Potomac Valley is responsible for providing timers and officials for this meet. Potomac Valley will have warm ups on Tuesday August 7th at Flickinger Aquatic Center for all age groups from 6pm to 7pm. Potomac Valley Zone Team coaching staff will be on deck at that time.

The team fee for each PVS swimmer is $70.00 ( which includes swimsuit, swim cap, tank top, and all events swam). Please make check payable to Potomac Valley Swimming. Entries must be submitted by Clubs or Teams via standard PVS entry procedures. Because of the short turn around time for the entries, HY-TEK entries are encouraged. PLEASE INCLUDE A HARD COPY with verification of times.
